The new ministry of finance

Between 2006 and 2009 the ministry underwent a metamorphosis. For the new architecture “openness” was key. The architects translated this by opening up the previously closed in gardens and using lots of glass. Although the essence of the previous incarnation is gone (which is a pity), the result is a pleasant-looking construction.

The building has some details and surprises, like this colorful and unusually shaped gate, that can be used to close the garden for the public.

Incidentally, this is the very first photo I took with my favorite camera.
